Overview

Odeon Cinemas approached us to design a social media campaign to help them promote their teens concessions tickets over Summer. We animated a serie of situations encouraging the teens to take refuge inside Odeon Cinemas to avoid outside dangers.

Concept development

To answer the brief, we explored three different routes to encourage the teens to get their concessions tickets over summer at Odeon Cinemas

1. Get Away with more

As we know from our research, kids smuggle food and drink into our cinemas – kind of fair enough as it’s rare to have all that much money when you’re a teenager.
But, now Odeon are offering concession price tickets for teens this summer, they really don’t have to go through the hassle of doing this anymore.
In this campaign, we will let teens know they can cease their “money saving” activities as we’ve got a better way to make cinema trips cheaper.

2. This one’s on me

Going to the cinema is a big group activity when you’re a teenager. And thanks to Odeon’s concession tickets for teens, this summer it’ll be even easier to spend time with your mates.
So, let’s encourage this behaviour by prompting teens to shout their mates a trip to the cinema.
In this campaign, we’ll contrast the feeling of being in a position to pay your friends tickets with the fact that they have no money.

3. You’re better off inside

When you think about it, there’s plenty of things about summer that are pretty bad: Sunburn, wasps, summer heartbreak, extraordinarily high pollen counts…
Lucky then that Odeon are offering teens concession tickets and a whole host of benefits in their cinemas.
In this campaign, we’ll have some fun by contrasting the dangers of being outside in summer with the joys of being in an Odeon cinema.
